About our Inn

A bicentenary institution in the heart of Hudson, Québec.

The Willow Inn embodies the rich history and lush landscapes of the Montérégie region. For over 200 years, families and settlers have lived and flourished at this historic Inn. We’ve kept with this tradition, creating an intimate space that combines refined beauty with chic British-inspired country elegance.

A Rich History

Willow Exterior-1 (3).jpg

The Willow was built in 1820 as a private residence for George Mallette and his family. In the nearly two centuries since, it has changed owners — and operations — many times over, serving as a general store, a headquarters for François Xavier Desjardins in La Guerre des Patriotes in 1837 and, more recently, a pub, dining room, and inn.

A number of families in Hudson have been the Auberge Willow Inn’s stewards through the years. Though it burned to the ground in 1989, it was rebuilt in a similar style soon after. Though fire couldn’t stop the Willow Inn, it eventually closed in the fall of 2016. Fortunately, a year later in 2017, Montrealers Patricia Wenzel and David Ades purchased the property and are giving it back its glory.

A Dedicated Team

David Ades & Patricia Wenzel

Owners

The owners of the Willow Inn are David Ades and Patricia Wenzel. Businessman David is a native of Cairo, Egypt, while art lover Patricia was born in Huddersfield, England. The two met while living in the West Island in 1979 and had their first dates at the Willow Inn. With Hudson being an integral part of both their local and personal history, the couple purchased the Willow to continue its tradition as an irreplaceable, iconic country pub and inn for future generations.
